Happy Guests

We truly enjoyed our ten days with Tassos and Christina. It was just like visiting friends in their country home. When we arrived, we sensed somewhat arty air in the house. No wonder the couple were architects. Our house was very comfy and we liked our bed. This is too important. They bought the estate as ruins and put it back to its former glory with a good modern taste. How much energy did they put into this? We were much impressed by the details of its façade. In the morning, we would do our daily meditational exercise breathing in the fresh air in the lush garden with summer flowers and fig trees overlooking the green hills and the Aegean. There is a terrace on the edge of the garden with a panoramic view. Seeing sunrise and evening twilight is a bliss! Tassos and Christina grow vegetables such as tomatoes and cucumbers. Why vegetables are that flavoursome in this part of the world? 

Christina's Estate, as it's called, is a perfect base for exploring East Pelion's beaches and gem-like villages. We'd like to come back in spring or autumn for walks. After spending our leisurely afternoon, we'd come back and sip some Greek wine. This country produces some tremendously inspiring wines. That was an eye-opening experience. Tassos is a modest man (By the way, my wife says his profile photo was the deciding factor!) and we learned while we stayed that he and his son has a wine business. We are interested in tapping into his knowledge next time we are there. 

Oh, we had a really happy time and do look forward to coming back! We can recommend the Estate to anyone who's looking for a relaxed, peaceful time away from it all.
